HSBC...fail. Shame.

My day today started off very badly. At first I didn't tell anyone. And I didn't. I decided to write it here instead...
I went to make a bank account at HSBC, and after waiting for 45 minutes, my turn finally came. To my surprise they said they can't make me an account because of my nationality.
My nationality is X but I lived in country Y my whole life, shouldn't that make me at least part of the Y culture and nationality? My dad has served this country over a couple of generations, and this is how they decide to finally treat us? No bank account.

I'm not sad because I didn't get an HSBC account card. To hell with them, their service was shit anyway. Excuse the language.
I'm sad and annoyed because that's how we are treated at country Y, after all of these years, and why? JUST bcuz I'm from the X nationality.
I wish politics would be destroyed all at once, within few milli-seconds, and we all becomes known to each other as humans and brothers/sisters.

Incase you are wondering, no, going back home to my country is quite difficult at this time because of the wars and unstable movements happening there. I'm not staying in this country because I have to, it's because I want to. We (my whole family) do. But living for 23 years here and that's what we get?
What a shame.

You may be wondering, WHAT? I know, an international bank, what's that got to do with nationalities or countries or anything..?
I wonder to.
